ATTENTION, I NEED YOUR HELP!!!!! As I hope most of you are aware (I hope), through input from volunteers, our Ranger and Walter Oates (maintenance chair) developed a plan to replace the current camp office and adjacent latrine with a new visitor friendly multipurpose Welcome Center. This will be a 40’x60’ wood sided building with a green metal roof, divided into three functional sections including camp office, nice flush toilet latrine, and walk-in trading post. Besides the functional need this building will serve, it is also a part of other ongoing plans to improve the initial visitor impression of Camp Bob Hardin. We all know how important first impressions are! The cost of the building was estimated at $65,000. To get the ball rolling, Regina and Eddie Rigdon (Ranger) have organized a fundraiser dinner at CBH dining hall on Saturday, Oct.4, with a choice of BBQ or steak dinner. The fundraiser cost is $100 per person or $150 per couple. Many folks received invitations, but if you did not, please forgive the oversight as everyone (especially you) are invited to participate. If your schedule does not permit attendance, and you would still like to support the cause, your gift in any dollar amount will be gladly accepted at the council office. The funds will be maintained in a restricted account for the sole use of paying for the new construction. Also, gifts in kind are gladly accepted and can be coordinated with Walter Oates. If you would like to attend, please contact the council office immediately or at least by tomorrow (9/26) as the food order must be placed. If you cannot attend but would like to support, I highly encourage you to do so and to be sure to let Eddie and Regina know of your support. They have worked hard on this event and it would be very nice of you to acknowledge that and let hem know of your support. Folks, this is great opportunity to demonstrate your support of Camp Bob Hardin and the scouts it serves. I personally endorse this project and cannot wait to see it come to fruition, but it can only happen through your support.
