Matthew Kelly is a native of Spartanburg, SC. He attended the University of South Carolina Upstate after graduating from Spartanburg High School in 2007. Mathew has been involved with Scouting for over 15 years as a youth and an adult. He earned the rank of Eagle Scout with Bronze Palm with Troop 11. He has also been active in Order of the Arrow, and recognized as a Vigil Honor member of the Skyuka Lodge 270. Matthew has been an outdoor enthusiast since childhood and has a passion for wilderness education. He has been a member of the Camp Bob Hardin Staff (Archery Instructor and C.O.P.E. and Climbing Director) and a part of the Philmont Conservation Team in 2016 as an OA Trail Crew Foreman. Matthew has attended Wilderness First Responder Training, American Hiking Society Volunteer Service Trips, completed a service year with AmeriCorps NCCC, and has Thru-hiked the Appalachian Trail & Pacific Crest Trail. When he is not indoors, Matthew enjoys taking on new hobbies and learning new skills, committing his time to the community and becoming a better leader and steward of the environment.
