2024 Calendar Year Sponsorship Opportunities

For your consideration, we have organized our yearly events by Tier levels I, II, and III. Each page includes a description of the event, sponsorship pricing, promotions received, as well as the date and location of the events if available. Tier I Events:

  • Distinguished Citizen Dinners (Rock Hill)

    • We invite you to join us for our Distinguished Citizen Dinner (DCD) in 2024. At this significant event, we will acknowledge an outstanding individual who has made exceptional contributions to our community and celebrate the achievements of our organization. Typically held in late March, the Rock Hill DCD is the Rock Hill Sports and Event Center, this dinner is set to also recognize our Scout of the year for our York District, and review the many accomplishments of the previous year. This year our Spartanburg event will be held at the 1881 Event Hall in Spartanburg with the same purpose as our Rock Hill Event. By participating in this event, you will help us raise the essential funds required to support our ever-expanding programs in the Counties we serve. In 2023 alone, these programs benefited over 3,200 young individuals. Your support will play a crucial role in investing in the future of our organization and ensuring that we continue to positively impact the lives of young people in our community.   • Flags for Heroes (Spartanburg and Rock Hill)

    • 2023, The Palmetto Council BSA's inaugural Flags for Heroes received vast attention from Upstate media outlets. (You can watch a video at bsaflagsforheroes.org). We reached our goal of flying 200 3x5 ft. flags in Duncan Park the week of Flag Day and look forward to surpassing our goal of having over 400 flags in 2024. We have also added a new location! In 2024, we will be hosting Flags for Heroes in Spartanburg, and Rock Hill, SC! You can choose to sponsor one or both events. Sponsorship pricing is per event and can be found here.

Tier II Events:

  • Scouting Adventure Cards

    • There are seven different versions of the Scouting Adventure Card. Each year we ask for sponsors to offset the cost of printing the cards. This allows a larger percentage of funds to benefit local Scouting. Cards are sold by Scouts for $10 each. Half of the proceeds go to the local units to help with uniform costs, Summer Camp costs, etc. The other half is given to the Council to help fund the cost of programs throughout the six counties served. You can choose to sponsor one version of the card or multiple versions. You can find pricing for each version and more information here.

  • Join Scout Nights

    • Are you looking to make a meaningful impact on the youth in your community while promoting your business? We invite you to become a valued sponsor of our Join Scout Nights (JSN) in 2024. These informative and engaging events take place in each of the 15 school districts we serve, including Chester, Clover, Cherokee, Union, Spartanburg (all 7 districts), Lancaster, Fort Mill, Rock Hill, and York.   • Shooting for Scouting

    • Every year, we proudly host our annual Sporting Clays Tournament at one of two breathtaking locations: Rocky Creek Sporting Clays and Clinton House. This exciting event brings together shooting enthusiasts, community supporters, and Scout advocates for a day of competitive fun and camaraderie. The heart of this tournament lies in its mission - to support Scouts throughout the six counties served by our Council. By participating or sponsoring this event, you directly contribute to the advancement of high-quality Scouting programs and services in our communities. Join us for a day of marksmanship, friendly competition, and the opportunity to make a lasting impact on the lives of young Scouts. Whether you're a seasoned shooter or a newcomer to the sport, our tournament promises an enjoyable experience in beautiful surroundings, all while championing the values of Scouting.   • Scouting for Food

    • Discover the heartwarming initiative that's transforming lives and communities – Scouting for Food. In the Palmetto Council, our Scout troops and Cub Scout packs make a real difference by collecting food donations for local food banks and nonprofits every year in February. What is Scouting for Food? Scouting for Food is a powerful annual event where our young scouts actively engage with the community to combat food insecurity. They collect food donations for local food banks and nonprofits, demonstrating the impact of collective action. Diverse Approaches, Collective Impact Our scouts have the flexibility to choose their approach: door-to-door collections or setting up outside grocery stores. These experiences help them develop communication skills and empathy while making a meaningful contribution. A Lesson in Empathy and Community Scouting for Food goes beyond a food drive. It's a hands-on learning experience that teaches our scouts empathy, compassion, and responsibility. By participating, they understand the importance of giving back to their communities. Tier III Events:

  • Elbert K. Fretwell Awards

    • The Elbert K. Fretwell Outstanding Educator Award has been developed by the Educational Relationships Subcommittee (ERSC) of the National Council of the Boy Scouts of America. Dr. Fretwell was a professor of education at Columbia University, an early thinker in the Scouting movement, and the second Chief Scout Executive of the BSA (succeeding James E. West). The Fretwell Award is presented by local Scouters to active teachers, educational support staff, and school administrators who stand out from their professional peers in instilling Scouting values in their students. Dr. Fretwell championed Scouting programs as extracurricular learning opportunities that promoted positive values and community service. The Palmetto Council will award the Elbert K Fretwell Outstanding Educator Award to one educator in each of our districts. You can find pricing and more information here.

  • Cub Scout Day Camps

    • Each year the Palmetto Council, BSA hosts two Cub Scout Day Camps. One in Spartanburg, SC and the other in Rock Hill, SC. Both camps will have the same theme and similar programming throughout the week. This Camp is designed for first - fifth grade Cub Scouts. During the week they take part in nature hikes, STEM activities, shooting sports, arts and crafts, outdoor sports and games, and bouldering. The camp theme for 2024 is Outer Space. Sponsorships for Day Camp can be for one or both camps and/or can be items for the campers such as drawstring bags, water bottles etc. For 2023, both camps had 100+ individuals participate.   • Breakfast with Santa

    • Join us in December at the Glendale Outdoor Leadership School (GOLS) for a heartwarming community event. This special occasion welcomes both Scouts and non-Scouts to enjoy a delightful breakfast with Santa himself, who travels all the way from the North Pole to share in the holiday festivities. Children will have the chance to meet Santa, take photos, and share their holiday wishes during designated time slots. Afterward, they'll head to the GOLS STEM Lab to craft their very own Christmas Wands—a creative and memorable activity that adds an extra dash of magic to the day.
