Getting Started
Introduction to Scouting and what is to be expected
Welcome to Scouting, where adventure and lifelong learning begin! Scouting is the premier youth development program, dedicated to preparing young people to make ethical and moral choices over their lifetimes by instilling in them the values of the Scout Oath and Law.
From Cub Scouts for younger children, to Scouts BSA for ages 11-17, to Venturing for older youth, each program offers unique opportunities for growth, leadership, and fun. Whether it's camping, community service, or learning new skills, Scouting provides a supportive and inclusive environment where youth can thrive.
Join us in Scouting and become part of a community committed to building character, fostering leadership, and creating lifelong memories. Your adventure starts here!

Participation and Support
Volunteer Opportunities:
Volunteering for your child’s Scout Unit is a great way to stay connected to the program and be more invovled in the Scouting journey. For Cub Scouts, parents are encouraged and required to stay for Pack meetings. Talk to the Cubmaster about ways you can volunteer your time and fill a Pack leadership position. For Scouts BSA, volunteering for a Troop is the perfect way for continued invovlement in your Scout’s journey as they grow. Chat with the Scout Master on what open positions may need to be filled.
Fundraising Support:
There are many ways for Scouts to raise to money to help fund their adventure. From popcorn to Scouting Adventure Cards and more, the Council and your child’s Pack or Troop will help you navigate product sales by offering support and guidance every step of the way. Click here to learn more.
