National Youth Leadership Training
NYLT is an intense and challenging leadership course taught by youth leaders.
Participants are assigned to a Patrol for the course and have the opportunity to serve in leadership roles such as Patrol Leader and Assistant Patrol Leader. Participants will improve their leadership skills as they have fun learning and playing together. The course is set up to represent an activity cycle in the life of a unit concluding with the outpost experience Saturday night.
NYLT benefits include:
- Participants learn leadership skills they can immediately use in their unit and which will benefit them for their lifetime.
- Crew Advisors and Scoutmasters have youth leaders who can help them ensure a “youth led” unit.
National Youth Leadership Training (NYLT) is the premier council offered Leadership Training program offered for 13 – 20 year-old youth members of Scouts, BSA Troops and Venture Crews. It is a 6-day training course divided over two weekends that is primarily conducted in an outdoor setting for Scouts and Venturers who want to improve their LEADERSHIP skills. The course will be offered at Optimist Acres (590 Foster Mill Rd, Spartanburg, SC 29302).
