The Palmetto Council NESA Chapter honored the Eagle Scout Class of 2016 on February 25, 2017 at Grace Lutheran Church. At the banquet 44 of the 108 members of the class were present to be recognized. During the program we awarded the fist two scholarships from the Bob Justice NESA Scholarship Endowment to Cory Peeler (Troop 109 - Rock Hill) and Isaiah Jordan (Troop 106 - Spartanburg). The program was highlighted by a live eagle from the Carolina Raptor Center and featured speaker Senator Brad Hutto, Distinguished Eagle Scout. In addition to honoring the Class of 2016 Eagles, the NESA Chapter announced its 2016 National Outstanding Eagle Scout Award (NOESA) class: Luther Dasher, Dan Malphrus and Wes Hayes. Later this spring the NESA Chapter will formally recognize the NOESA recipients with a joint ceremony that focuses on their significant contributions to Scouting and our community.
